Power transformers TM
What is a TM transformer?
TM transformer is a three-phase oil transformer with an expansion tank designed to convert electricity in high-voltage networks (6 kV, 10 kV, 20 kV, 35 kV) up to the consumption level. These transformers are used in open electrical installations in moderately cold climate conditions (UHL1) and provide reliable voltage reduction in supplying power grids for various industrial and commercial facilities.

Application of TM transformers
TM transformers are three-phase oil transformers with natural cooling, designed for operation in electrical networks with a frequency of 50 Hz. These transformers use two windings to convert electricity (voltage reduction or increase) in electrical networks and to supply consumers. TM transformers are ideal for operation in moderately cold climates.
Operating conditions of TM transformers
TM transformers are designed to operate in temperature ranges of +40°C to -45°C for moderately cold climates, and +40°C to -60°C for colder regions.
- Installation height: not more than 1000 meters above sea level.
- Environment: the equipment must not be operated in contaminated areas with conductive dust, corrosive or explosive gases, or in environments with high vapor concentrations that may adversely affect transformer performance.
- Vibration and shock: TM transformers are not intended for use in locations subject to strong vibrations, shocks or impacts.
TM oil transformer design
The main elements of the TM transformer include active components, circuit breakers, oil tank, cover with high-voltage and low-voltage bushings, expansion tank with air dryer (built-in or separate) and thermal suction filter (for transformers with oil volume of 1000 kg or more). The magnetic system of the transformer is made of cold-rolled electrotechnical steel, and the high-voltage winding has a control bend in the last layer.
The high-voltage and low-voltage windings are designed as block coils. The active parts are rigidly fixed in the upper part of the tank and the switch is placed also in the upper part. The adjusting bends are connected to the contacts of the switch. The transformer tank is a welded metal structure, made in oval or rectangular shape, with lifting hooks at the top, an earthen bottom and an oil drain fitting. This fitting allows oil samples to be extracted without complete draining. The tank supports have holes for fixing to the foundation.
The tanks can withstand pressure drops up to 35 kPa. Control elements and connections are located on the tank lid. Oil resistant rubber products are used for sealing. Transformer windings are made of aluminum or copper, double insulated. Rated voltage: high - 6.10 kV ±2x2.5%, low - 0.4; 0.69; 3.15; 6.3; 10.5 kV.
The transformer complies with climatic conditions according to GOST 15150 U1 and UHL1. Cooling is natural, protection class - IP00. Service life - 30 years.

Quality management
There are two stages of quality control at the Evernew Transformer factory. The first stage involves quality control of incoming materials and components. The second stage involves acceptance testing, which includes:
- Measuring the winding resistance of TM transformers;
- Transformer ratio measurement and winding connection group monitoring;
- Short-circuit measurement;
- Measurement of idling losses;
- Dielectric strength of insulation;
- Measurement of the breakdown voltage of transformer oil;
- Noise measurement;
- Measurement of short-circuit currents and their characteristics;
- Overload resistance test;
- Check winding temperature during continuous operation;
- Checking the characteristics of the overvoltage protection;
- Evaluation of transformer oil quality and composition;
- Measurement of vibration levels in operating mode;
- Evaluation of the strength of the structure against mechanical loads;
- Monitoring of overpressure protection in the transformer.
All TM transformers manufactured at the Evernew Transformer factory are certified in accordance with the state standards of the Russian Federation, have passed mandatory pre-delivery diagnostics and have GOST certificates of conformity, as well as international CE and UL certification marks. The products are supplied to CIS countries, Europe, North America, South America, Asia and other regions.
